Where this comes from.

Backstory does not publish pricing on its site. The figures above were given through its own sales process and should be treated as reported rather than as a list price. Your quote will differ.

The arithmetic worth doing.

An entry package of $15,000 to $25,000 covering around five reps is $3,000 to $5,000 per rep per year.

Kaypo is $99 a month, with everybody on the team included. No per seat charge and no minimum.

At five people the difference is roughly $3,000 against $15,000 or more. At fifteen it widens, because one price is flat and the other is not.

What the consumption credits mean.

Pre-packaged credits for deal summaries and risk alerts is metered usage. It is a budget somebody has to manage, and running out has a cost.

Kaypo does not meter. A workspace scores every open deal nightly and sends every digest regardless of volume.

What you get for the difference.

Backstory captures activity automatically across email, calendar and meetings, which is real and which Kaypo does not do.

What Kaypo gives instead: every score showing its inputs, every weight yours to set, a back test against your own closed deals, and a morning Slack message per rep with the reason beside every number. Published price, self serve, 14 day trial, no card, live the day you connect.
