How to
A single threaded deal has one engaged contact, and it usually looks like the best deal in the pipeline because the champion is responsive. It is one resignation, reassignment or lost internal argument away from nothing.
A single threaded deal with a great champion produces good calls, fast replies and real optimism. Nothing looks wrong.
The risk is not visible in any of the things a rep naturally watches, which is why it has to be counted rather than sensed.
Engaged means they have done something: replied, attended, asked. A name on a record that has never responded is an entry, not a contact.
Count engaged contacts per open deal and sort ascending. The top of that list is your exposure, and it is usually larger than anybody expects.
Ask the champion who else should see this, framed as helping them rather than going around them.
Bring somebody from your side to create a reason for somebody from theirs. A technical conversation needs their technical person.
Do it while things are going well. Multi-threading during a crisis reads as panic.
Kaypo counts contacts on every open deal and flags the combination that matters most: single threaded and otherwise scoring well. That is the deal that looks safe and is not, and it appears in the manager coaching panel with the value at risk attached.
