Question
Real time is correct when the information changes what somebody does in the next hour, which very little in a pipeline does. For everything else a daily digest is read and acted on where an event stream is skimmed.
Would this change what the person does in the next hour. If not, it can wait until morning, and waiting makes it more likely to be read.
A buyer replying to a proposal passes. A stage moving does not.
It arrives at a moment somebody is planning their day rather than mid task.
It can be ranked, so the most important thing is at the top instead of the most recent thing.
It can carry context, because there is room for a reason beside every number.
One digest each morning per person, plus a small number of threshold alerts for genuine interruptions.
If the alerts fire more than once or twice a week per person, the threshold is wrong.
A morning digest per rep naming the movers with the reason beside each. Separately, alerts when a deal moves past a threshold you set, routed to the owner rather than a channel.
